General Operative - Hire Department - Coolock, Dublin 17

Principle Objective

As a General Operative in our Hire Department, you will support the smooth operation of our hire service, ensuring that every piece of equipment is thoroughly inspected, maintained, and ready for hire. You will contribute to delivering fast, efficient service and uphold our commitment to safety and quality. This position offers an excellent starting point for a career within Chadwicks!

Knowledge & Experience

• Previous General operative is an advantage but not essential
• Valid Fork-lift Licence an advantage
• Valid Manual Handling Certificate desirable
• Previous customer service experience desirable
• Receive and check off deliveries to the warehouse, highlighting any anomalies and ensuring secure, correct and timely storage of such deliveries in line with health and safety guidelines.
• Ensure that the warehouse/store is kept tidy at all times, that stock is clearly identifiable and low stock levels highlighted to management where necessary to make certain products are available at all times
• Responsible for picking, packing and loading of company vehicles.
• Actively safeguard against theft of goods or company property by being security conscious at all times.
• Work and communicate as a team member to ensure the warehouse operates efficiently and effectively within company policy.
• Perform any other duties as may be deemed necessary or as may be required by the company.

Hire Sale & Workshop Support

• Assisting in the general day to day running of a busy hire department
• Assisting with customer sales and service 
• Maintenance and service of our electrical tools to include;

            Angle grinders, Circular saw, Hammer drills, Breaker, Sanders. 

• Maintenance and service of engine types; 

               Honda 4 stroke petrol 

               Small diesel engines 

               Makita / Husqvarna - Petrol 2 stroke 

• Test and run for small fleet (pat test) 
• Maintenance and light repair on small tool fleet 
• Ensure all company policies are implemented accordingly 
• Provide comprehensive customer demonstrations on how to safely use plant and tool equipment

Contract Type

• Permanent
• Full time 39 hour contract
• Working week Monday to Friday,  may be required to take part in the Saturday roster
